Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality. Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult.

Hope is a powerful force and possibly the most important factor when it comes to overcoming life’s biggest challenges. Without it, everything is lost.

Hope has the power to make you do the impossible. It has been said that in extreme situations only mad people can keep their hope alive. Are we now in extreme situations? Do you have the courage to keep your hope alive, that little bit of something that you must dig deep for but which pulls you from the depths of despair?

True, it is often really hard to be optimistic during the difficult times. To overcome the emotions, dig even deeper, grab hold of your mind and think of hope as your little spark of light, your flame against the dark that you are facing. The more it burns, the brighter it becomes, your will to find a way, against all the odds. Don’t just wait for fate to happen, because there’s always one more thing that you can do to take the reins back and control and influence your destiny. Perhaps you just haven’t worked out what that one thing is yet!

Question: Are things feeling a bit ‘groundhog day’ at the moment, with little light at the end of the long and winding tunnel?

Suggestion: Do something that is a treat for you and only you:

Short term: go for a drive and blast your favourite songs loudly; make time for a 20 minute meditation; have an unspoiled bath with a new purchase of a bath bomb or even better using one of 10 you have in a cupboard that you’ve not had chance to use yet; download a new book and grab yourself a whole hour of unspoiled reading time of a story with a happy ending; take an online gallery tour to immerse yourself in culture for half an hour …

Medium term: book a drive in concert as a treat for you and a friend / loved one; plan a social gathering with friends you’ve not seen for over a year – reconnect; do an online fun craft or skill course with your partner or friend; go stop with a relative or friend that you’ve not seen in a while and create a new ‘bubble’ …

Longer term: plan a celebration / event for 1 years’ time including close relatives and /or friends just for the enjoyment and fun of it; set a goal of doing something you’ve enjoyed more of during the last 3 months and continue this for the next 6 – visualise the benefits of continuing this; plan for something simple as recognition that you dug deep and thrived a little or a lot during these weird times – a celebratory meal, a check in with the friend / loved one you’ve done this with, retake steps to a place that would remind you of when you were in this time and place and got through the treacle!

Enable yourself to take small incremental steps forward, to make big things happen. 😊

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift as it is a Present that will never happen again. Let HOPE BE with you today, at work and home.

When you hope, things are more likely to turn out the way you want them to. How you ask? Because you’re willing to do everything it takes to make it happen. Chose Hope and create your thriving steps towards that light at the end of your tunnel.
